In addition to being a professor, I am also a nationally certified American Sign Language interpreter and work in the New York City area. Most of my interpreting work is in hospitals, college classrooms, and arts-related institutions or settings. Professional interpreters are bound to a Code of Professional Conduct, which was co-authored by Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the National Association of the Deaf (NAD). If you need an interpreter or want to learn more about how sign language interpreting works, you can find out more information on the RID website. You can also contact me for interpreting requests.
